The living room features a large corner nook which could be used perfectly as an office or reading area. The loft is lit with track lighting throughout, perfect for showcasing artwork. The kitchen: The kitchen is also triple mint, finished with tempered glass counters, stainless steel finishes and cabinetry, Fisher Payskel double dishwasher, double sized GE fridge and wine fridge, GE oven and convection oven, Liebher gas range (with overhead vent), garbage disposal unit, and instant boiling water faucet. There is a closet, as well as a large wardrobe unit which functions as a second closet. The area also has its own air conditioner/fan unit, and has access to the sleeping lofts above. Outside of the first sleeping area is a full bathroom, which is vented, has closets, and is equipped with Duravit fixtures. Sleeping area 2: The second sleeping area, which measures approximately 14'x13', is currently used as the "master bedroom." This area is sectioned off using thick glass paneled walls, which can be open, closed, and locked into place, allowing you to live as openly or as closed off as you'd like. The second sleeping area features a mounted Samsung TV that will remain with the apartment. Off of the second sleeping area is an en-suite walk-in closet, which leads into the bathroom suiteBathroom Suite:The bathroom suite is very large and vented, and is finished with tempered glass tiles, double sinks, a Duravit toilet, Duravit bidet, Kohler soaking tub with Evolcuion Alessi shower fixtures. The tub has a waterfall faucet, as well as two hand showers. Sleeping Area 3:In the back of the apartment is the third sleeping area, which is currently set up as a second living room. This area is extremely large, measuring approximately 16' x 21'6, and features a functioning, wood burning fireplace. As with the front of the loft, the rear area boasts full-sized windows, exposed brick, and original tin ceilings, as well as a large built-in bookcase. There is a Bose speaker system installed that will remain with the unit. The Patio:Measuring approximately 12'6 x 26'6, the private patio is the jewel of the apartment, perfect for enjoying open protected sky overlooking Lafayette Street. The patio is equipped with electricity and water, meaning you can garden and enjoy appliances outdoors. The patio also features a grill, furniture, and planters that will remain with the unit, as well as a pull-out canopy for when it rains. The building:This six story Northern Renaissance style loft building was designed and built in 1889 by architect Alfred Zucker. The building is crowned by a beautifully restored copper cornice emblazoned with "1889? and perches two terra cotta gargoyles who peer down the building's ornate façade. The façade features brownstone carvings, columns, and pilasters, which house a row of carved demons heads looking onto the sidewalk below. The building has since housed hatters, furriers, cloak makers, shirt makers, flower makers, union dissenters, embezzlers, jury duty evaders, and was converted to residential use in 1981 following the artist in residence loft law.History:Lot 10 of Block 545 in Manhattan was initially inherited and parceled out by Anthony Bleecker in 1789 after the departure of the British following the Revolutionary War. The lot was sold and developed in into "Colonnade Houses? in 1883, which mimicked the style of "LaGrange Mansion? ? which still exist today on Lafayette Street ? and were then considered the grandest homes outside of London. Lot 10 would remain a Colonnade House until 1887 when it was sold and developed for commercial use by the brothers Jacob and William Stolle. The brothers commissioned architect Alfred Zucker to design a six story building to be used for commercial use.
